Acts 17:4 (KJV) And some of them believed and consorted with Paul and Silas
and of the devout Greeks a great multitude, and of the chief women, not a few.
Acts 17:12 (KJV) Therefore many of them believed; also, of honorable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.
Acts 17:34 (NIV) Some of the people became followers of Paul and believed. Among them was Dionysius, a member of the Areopagus, also a woman named Damaris, and a number of others. Men, not a few.
1. Chief women use their influence to advance the Kingdom.
· Chief women know that it is not about them, rather it is about why they were created, and how they use what God has given them to bring Him glory.
· Chief women stand out from the crowd and others take note (vs. Acts 17:4).
· Chief women recognize their level of authority and they are good stewards with it.
· Read Mat. 6:25-34 and Mat. 5:16. How do these scriptures relate to where you are at now, and how you can apply it to your purpose and influence?
2. Chief women see other women (and men) as God created them to be-their Sister (Brother) in Christ.
· Chief women are not intimidated, jealous, or envious by the strength and/or anointing of other women, rather they celebrate and embrace them for who they are.
· Chief women are secure in who they are, therefore they don’t manipulate others to get what they want.
· Chief women are always open to collaborate and work with others to enhance the body of Christ and to grow the Kingdom of God.
· What hinderances are blocking you from walking in your purpose? Who does God have you to work with this year concerning ministry? What areas in your life do you need God to heal, deliver, or give you more understanding in? Write out a prayer regarding the questions posed, include in it what you are expecting God to do. Keep the prayer and revisit it throughout the year and document what has changed or hasn’t.
3. Chief women multiply (make disciples)
· In the book of Acts, the early church grew rapidly, and many who converted were women. Women like to talk and talk about some of everything, but more importantly, disciples women share information. Chief women love to share their testimonies of what God has done for them.
· Chief women help others to walk into their destiny and purpose through discipleship. Discipleship requires one to invest in someone else. Who has invested in you throughout the years? How did they help you to walk more in your purpose?
· Chief women are not only able to make disciples, but they are able to come together and make a change in various environments (home, church, and communities). Their influence is given by God and they use it to bring others into the Kingdom and make a difference in the world.
· What are your discipleship goals for this year?
