Years ago there was a TV game show called Press Your Luck. Many people today and some “believers “, in a sense (spiritual) are still playing this game concerning their faith in God.
Some believe that will receive from God, while others believe treat God as some lucky charm, meaning maybe they will receive from God and maybe not.
Jesus is challenging all of us to press into our faith and believe wholeheartedly. This may require us to do something we never have done before, like take a leap of faith.
Let us examine the woman with the issue of blood and how she “pressed” to get to Jesus.
Mark 5:21-34
“Now when Jesus had crossed over again by boat to the other side, a great multitude gathered to Him; and He was by the sea. And behold, one of the rulers of the synagogue came, Jairus by name. And when he saw Him, he fell at His feet and begged Him earnestly, saying, “My little daughter lies at the point of death. Come and lay Your hands on her, that she may be healed, and she will live.” So Jesus went with him, and a great multitude followed Him and thronged Him.
At this point in the text, Jesus was surrounded by a crowd of people and everyone was “pressing in” to get his attention.
Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse.
Have you ever been at a point in your life where you tried everything you could do to fix the situation but nothing worked?

Have you experienced sickness, heartache, pain from your past, been rejected by people, or just going through a bad situation for years and it doesn’t seem like an end is coming?

When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”
This woman had to move “incognito” to get past the crowd and get to Jesus because she was unclean.
She had to change her position, get low, and press her way to touch the helm of his garment.
When you press your faith in Jesus, it will cause you to believe and do something you never did before.
This woman changed her position…..
Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction. And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?”
This woman has the spirit of expectancy, and whenever that spirit is present, it sets the atmosphere for miracles!
When Jesus asks a question, he is not looking for an answer, he’s looking for a response.
How have you been responding to Jesus?
But His disciples said to Him, “You see the multitude thronging You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’ ” And He looked around to see her who had done this thing. But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth. And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.””
Jesus called her daughter, no longer was she unclean. Jesus doesn’t just wants to heal you, he wants to make you whole.
