Matthew 17:21 “Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.”
Purpose of Fast: To hear from God and receive more revelation of His Word through the Holy Spirit. Write down all revelations that you receive from the Holy Spirit.
1. Prayers and Petitions
Write petitions and prayers that have not been answered yet.
Jeremiah 29:13, “You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.”
Jeremiah 29:11-14 NKJV , “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you to the place from which I cause you to be carried away captive.”
2. Friends and Family
List family members, friends, and others that you are praying for to get saved, healed, and/or delivered. Write a prayer with scripture concerning your petition for them.
Ephesians 6:18 KJV , “praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;”
List health problems that you currently have. List treatment plans the doctor has you on (medication, therapy, exercises, etc.). If applicable, list possible reversal of health condition due to change in your lifestyle: Example: diabetes and high blood pressure can be cured by diet exercise control. Write out any problems or strongholds causing you not to comply with healthy lifestyle changes. Write out scriptures you are believing God for concerning your health. Write a prayer regarding your healing. (This can be applied to others you are praying for with health conditions).
3 John 1:2 NKJV , “Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”
Write foods, people, relationships, negative thoughts and behaviors, and any other thing that is currently or has been toxic to your body, mind, spirit, and soul. What do you need God to help you with to overcome them? What things do you need to come out of agreement with that is contrary to The Word of God? Who do you need to forgive or who do you need to apologize to? What specific situation from your past do you need healing from? What idol is competing with your time with God?
1 Corinthians 6:19-20, Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies.
5. Gifts of the Holy Spirit
What is your gift(s) from God? If you have not identified or received them, pray for them to be revealed. What gifts do you desire from the Holy Spirit? What has been hindering you from flowing in your gift of the Holy Spirit? (Refer to spiritual assessment and gift worksheet).
I Corinthians 12:5-11 NKJV , “There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.”
Romans 12:6-8 NKJV , “Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.”
6. Dreams and Visions
Write any recent or past dream and/or vision that you have had that you know was from God. Write any interpretation that you received. Did the dream or vision come with instructions for you to do? Have you done it yet? Continue to keep track of your dreams and visions in a separate journal.
Acts 2:17-18 NKJV , “‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams. And on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; And they shall prophesy.”
7. Prophetic Words
Have you recently prophesied to anyone? What where the results? Has someone recently or in the past prophesied over you? Had it come to past yet? List concerns or fears that you may have regarding the prophetic ministry.
2 Peter 1:19-21 NKJV, “And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.”
8. Miracles, Signs, and Wonders
What do you need and/or believe from God that must manifest supernaturally? What, if any, is hindering your belief in the supernatural? How have you experienced the supernatural in the past? How has God used you to bring forth a miracle? What do you desire to know more about the supernatural?
Mark 16:15-18 NKJV , “And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.””
9. Clear(er) View of God
Write out your current view and understanding of God. What do you desire to know more about Him?
Exodus 3:14-15 NKJV ,“And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’” Moreover God said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel: ‘The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name forever, and this is My memorial to all generations.’”
